The Daddy Agency Short-Read Review
By Jody Gore
In The Daddy Agency, a free short read by romance author Monique DeVere, Jamie-Leigh Stephenson has made a good life for her and her 10 year old daughter, Nicole. With ever-present father figures available, Nicole is not at a loss for male guidance; a result Jamie is extremely grateful for. But the day arrives when Nicole’s father does step back into their lives. He is ready to commit and claim his little family.
Take this read to lunch or peek at it during a short work break. Far more entertaining than a newspaper, or gossip rag, The Daddy Agency will leave you wanting more of Monique DeVere’s writings.
Ms. DeVere paints a picture of an independent woman who early on, and for reasons clearly stated, makes a life changing decision to raise her baby alone. Much to her parents’ chagrin, Jamie manages her life, and that of her daughter’s, on her own terms. Despite the difficulty of trying to please her parents, Jamie perseveres for Nicole’s sake.
But success with her agency does not work to reduce the wanting ache she feels when again; Jamie comes face-to-face with her ex-lover, Daniel Jacob. At this meeting Ms. DeVere relays to the reader the power of forgiveness, and a wonderful sample of cherished love between the once estranged couple.
